CloseSiddhant Gupta (Sid) is the Global VP for Energy at Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence and he brings with him more than 12 years of experience in the global Energy sector having led numerous digital transformation and de-carbonization businesses. Prior to this role he was responsible for the Future Grid business in APAC, focused on solar, battery storage and e-Mobility infrastructure in Siemens. Sid started his career with Rolls Royce Power Systems and then went on to head up sales and marketing with an EPC player in South East Asia.
Over the last 5 years he has worked in multiple roles, leading the Energy Storage (hydrogen, battery and thermal) segment in Europe, and driving digital transformation in the gas power generation business in the US and in the Oil and gas business in Middle East. Sid is an Electrical and Electronics engineer with an MBA from INSEAD France. He is passionate about sustainability and is keen to drive the transition to renewable energy, sustainable manufacturing and zero emission mobility.
Chong Ng is the Applied Research Associate Director at Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult.
He is also a non-executive director of TUS-OREC Research Centre in China and an Honorary Professor of the University of Warwick. His R&D team focus on innovative offshore renewable energy technologies and novel full scale wind turbine testing solutions developments.
Before this, as the Head of Research and Head of Validation, he led a multi-disciplinary team explore international market, delivered applied research projects, full scale multi-megawatts wind and tidal turbine nacelle/powertrain testing projects and develop world-class full-scale test facilities.
Chong is a Chartered Engineer and has a PhD in electrical power quality. He has more than 20 years of collective industry and research experience in renewable energy and power conversion. Chong has published more than 40 international research papers and a book in offshore wind farm topic. He also a named inventor on multiple international patents.
Chris is Head of Engineering in the Design Group in the Applied Solutions team, part of Hexagon
Manufacturing Intelligence. The Applied Solutions team delivers design and development projects for
drive systems, particularly in the automotive, commercial vehicle, aerospace and wind energy
industries. Chris leads a team of mechanical, electrical, electronics and control engineers including
specialists in gearbox design, motor design, systems engineering, finite element analysis, noise and
vibration engineering and the use of the suite of CAE tools offered by Hexagon MI. Example projects
include the development of Electric Drive Units for passenger car and heavy commercial vehicles,
wind turbine gearbox developments, aircraft accessory drives and rotorcraft gearboxes. Since
receiving a PhD. from the University of Bristol in 2005, he has worked at Romax and now Applied
Solutions in various roles, starting in software application development, then moving to engineering
services including a 5 year spell working out of the US office in Colorado, before returning to manage
engineering teams in the HQ in Nottingham.
Bruce Hall has over 30 years’ experience working in the energy and renewables industry, most recently as the CEO of award-winning predictive maintenance solutions providers ONYX Insight.
Bruce began his career in the industry at Shell, where he took on various roles in sales and marketing before moving to Castrol, working in various senior management positions across the globe in the past 25 years.
In 2017 Bruce became one of the founding members of ONYX Insight, a provider of predictive maintenance solutions for the wind industry, a company that has since become fully owned by bp.
